Kast Virtual Card, explained: the KAST Visa you can use before any plastic arrives
The Kast Virtual Card is a Visa card that exists only in the KAST app. It is free and can be used as soon as you order it. Through Apple Pay or Google Pay it does nearly everything a physical card does, including cash at contactless ATMs.
What the Kast Virtual Card is
The Kast Virtual Card is the same KAST Visa card you can order in plastic, minus the plastic. It has a card number, an expiry date and a CVV, all shown in the app under Details, and it spends from your KAST balance, which you fund with stablecoins such as USDC and USDT.
KAST has sold it on speed since its first cards: its 2024 posts for the K Card and the X Card both promised that the virtual card works immediately. Once your Kast Card KYC is approved, ordering a virtual card takes seconds, and it is active as soon as it shows up in your card list.

Kast Visa: Platinum or Infinite
Every KAST card is a Visa card; the tier decides which kind. The free Standard card is a Visa Platinum. Premium and Private cards are Visa Infinite, which KAST issues in virtual and physical form as its V2 Infinite cards.
Visa Infinite adds Visa's own benefits on top of KAST's rewards, such as purchase protection, extended warranty and travel insurance, claimed through the Visa Benefits Portal rather than in the KAST app. Cashback and KAST Points are the same whether you pay with the virtual card or a physical one.

Is the KAST card a VCC?
People search for "KAST VCC" because VCC, virtual credit card, has become shorthand for any virtual card. The KAST card is virtual, but it isn't credit. It spends the balance you have deposited, so there is no credit line, no statement to pay off and no interest.
You can't spend more than you hold, and a payment that bounces for lack of funds costs $0.50. Merchants still treat it as a normal Visa card; some terminals simply ask you to choose Credit, and that works.
Online payments, subscriptions and PayPal
Online, you type in the number, expiry and CVV from the app exactly as shown, including the billing address KAST lists under Details. Some checkouts add a 3-D Secure confirmation; follow the prompt to finish.
For subscriptions, the risk is an empty balance on renewal day, so keep a small buffer. Most KAST Visa cards can also be added to PayPal, where available in your country, and your purchases still earn cashback. Payments in US dollars cost nothing; other currencies carry a 0.5% to 1.75% FX fee, listed with everything else on our Kast Card fees page.
Paying in shops with your phone
Add the virtual card to Apple Pay or Google Pay and it pays at any contactless Visa terminal. In Apple Wallet you can use the Add to Apple Wallet button in the KAST app or type the details in; in Google Wallet a virtual card is always entered by hand. KAST adds no fee for wallet payments.
Hold the phone or watch 2 to 4 cm from the reader until it beeps. Samsung Pay isn't supported yet, so Samsung owners use Google Pay.

Cash from a contactless ATM
You don't need plastic for cash either. At an ATM with the contactless symbol, hold your phone wallet to the reader, enter the card PIN and choose Withdraw Cash. Set the PIN in the app first, and decline any currency conversion the ATM offers.
KAST charges $3 plus 2% per ATM withdrawal, up to $250 at a time and 3 withdrawals in 24 hours. The ATM operator may add its own fee, and cash withdrawals don't earn cashback or KAST Points.
Keeping the card details safe
The KAST app hides card details by default, something KAST pointed out in its own security tips on X. Never send the full number or CVV in a chat or an email, KAST Concierge included; it only needs the last four digits.
If you think someone has seen the details, freeze the card in the app, which takes effect instantly, then order a new one. A virtual card also can't be left behind in a taxi. For bigger safeguards, set your own card payment limit under Limits and switch on 2FA.

Designs: KAST, Solana and Bitcoin cards
When you order, you pick a design: the KAST card, the Solana card or the Bitcoin card, with others appearing in campaigns. Some exclusive designs, such as the Solana Solid Gold card, are virtual only. When KAST launched the Solana card in 2024, a free virtual card was one of its selling points. Our Kast Solana Card page covers that design and how to fund it from a Solana wallet.
