Kast Card in Mexico: SPEI, paying in pesos at 0% FX and cashing out to MXN
Kast Card is available in Mexico, and SPEI makes it one of the cheapest countries to move money in and out of KAST. With your own CLABE, pesos come in by SPEI and are held as US dollars, and eligible card purchases in pesos work out at 0% FX.
Is KAST available in Mexico?
Yes. KAST is available in Mexico: residents can sign up, verify and use the card, and SPEI is built into the app. KAST accepts residents of every country except those under sanctions, and Mexico is not one of them.
KAST added SPEI in December 2025 and has been pushing Mexico since, with a banner that calls it "la app de dinero global, disponible en México" and World Cup watch parties in 2026. The supported countries page has the full list.

How to sign up for KAST from Mexico
Signing up for KAST from Mexico takes a few minutes when the ID check goes through automatically.

referral/ and create an account with your email, Google, Apple or phone number.6MHGEMGE - Choose Mexico as your country of residence.
- Scan your INE, passport or driver's licence and take a live selfie.

The app runs in Spanish: open Account, then Language. Every screen of the process is on our Kast Card sign up page.

Depositing pesos to KAST by SPEI
Depositing pesos to KAST by SPEI works like paying any other Mexican bank account. Tap Receive, choose SPEI, activate it the first time, and copy your CLABE. Send pesos to it from BBVA, Santander, Banorte, Nu or any other bank, and the money usually lands within seconds.
KAST converts the pesos to US dollars as they arrive. In KAST's launch example, 200 MXN came in as 10.73 USD. You can share the same CLABE with an employer or a client, so pesos paid to you end up in dollars without a detour through an exchange.

What SPEI costs on KAST
SPEI on KAST costs 0% in KAST fees, for deposits and for transfers out. KAST says any cost is included in the rate you see before you confirm, so the amount in dollars on the review screen is what you get; there is no separate fee line.
There is a second way to send pesos, the KAST Pay payout in MXN, which lists a 1% FX fee built into its rate and a minimum of 10 MXN. For most people SPEI is the one to use. Every other charge is on our Kast Card fees page.

Sending pesos to a Mexican bank
Sending pesos from KAST to a Mexican bank takes four steps: tap SPEI in the Pay tab, enter the amount in MXN, add the recipient by CLABE, debit card number or mobile number, then review and confirm. It can be your own account or anyone else's.
Transfers usually settle instantly, though some banks are slower at night or during maintenance. Double-check the CLABE and name before you confirm: a SPEI transfer can't be cancelled once it is sent.
Paying in pesos with the Kast Card
Paying in pesos with the Kast Card works out at 0% FX on eligible purchases. That comes from KAST's LATAM FX Fee Rebate, which covers card spending in MXN, BRL, ARS, COP and other Latin American currencies until 31 December 2027.
The usual FX fee may still be charged at checkout; KAST then credits it back in dollars, normally within a week. The rebate covers card purchases only, not SPEI, deposits or ATM withdrawals. Apple Pay and Google Pay both work for Mexican residents.
Topping up KAST with stablecoins from Mexico
You can skip SPEI and fund KAST with stablecoins instead. Sending USDT or USDC to your deposit address costs nothing on KAST's side; you pay only the network fee. Solana is usually the quickest and cheapest route, and our Kast Solana Card page shows a deposit from Phantom.
Other coins such as BTC or ETH work too, but KAST converts them for a fee of roughly 2% to 5%.
Kast Card cashback and offers in Mexico
Kast Card cashback in Mexico is paid in US dollars: 1.5% on the free Standard tier, 2% on Premium and 3% on Private, with KAST Points on top of the paid tiers. Cashback goes up to 8%.
The best-known campaign so far was Matchday during the 2026 World Cup. Pick the winner of a match and you got 2x cashback for 24 hours; 55% of players called Mexico's 1-0 win over South Korea. The Rewards tab shows what is running now.

Using the KAST card at ATMs in Mexico
A KAST ATM withdrawal in Mexico costs $3 plus 2% of the amount, and the LATAM rebate does not cover it. Each withdrawal is capped at $250, with up to 3 withdrawals or $750 per 24 hours, and the ATM operator may add its own fee.
For pesos in a bank account, SPEI is far cheaper.
Is KAST worth it in Mexico?
KAST is worth it in Mexico if you want to keep money in dollars and still live in pesos. SPEI in and out costs nothing in KAST fees, card purchases in pesos work out at 0% FX until the end of 2027, and cashback is paid in dollars.
People who mostly use cash will get less from it, because ATM fees add up. Premium and Private only pay back at high monthly spend, and most people do fine on the free Standard card.
