Kast Card in Turkey: paying in lira, cashing out to TRY and what to expect

Kast Card is available in Turkey (Türkiye). It suits people who keep savings in stablecoins and want to spend them in lira: the balance stays in dollars, card payments convert at checkout, and lira goes back to a Turkish bank for 1% plus $2.

Is KAST available in Turkey?

Yes. KAST is available in Turkey: residents can sign up, verify and use the card. KAST excludes only residents of sanctioned countries, and Turkey isn't on that list.

In Istanbul, KAST sponsored Solana Crossroads in April 2025, sent its co-founder and COO to speak and offered 50% off tickets paid with the card. The supported countries page has the full list.

What paying in lira costs

Paying in lira with a KAST card costs an FX fee of 0.5% to 1.75%. Your balance is held in US dollars, so each TRY purchase is converted at checkout, and the app shows the fee before you confirm. Non-USD purchases under $25 may add $0.10.

On a 1,000 TRY dinner that comes to roughly 10 to 35 cents of fee. Anything priced in US dollars, which includes a lot of flights, hotels and online services, carries no FX fee at all.

Does Apple Pay work with KAST in Turkey?

Apple Pay is not offered for KAST cards to residents of Turkey. KAST decides Apple Pay access by the country of residence on your account, not by where your phone is, and Turkey is not on its list.

The physical card works at any Visa terminal, and the card details work online. Visitors whose KAST residence is a supported country can still use Apple Pay while in Turkey.

How to top up KAST in Turkey

You top up KAST in Turkey by sending stablecoins to your KAST deposit address. USDT and USDC both work, and KAST charges nothing on stablecoin deposits; you only pay the network fee.

Solana is usually the fastest and cheapest route, with deposits landing in under a minute. Our Kast Solana Card page walks through sending from Phantom. Other coins such as BTC or ETH also work, but KAST converts them for a fee of roughly 2% to 5%.

Cashing out to a Turkish bank in TRY

Cashing out to a Turkish bank with KAST costs a 1% FX fee plus a $2 transfer fee. It runs through KAST Pay: open Pay, choose the payout, pick TRY and send to your own IBAN or someone else's at Ziraat, Garanti BBVA, Akbank, Yapı Kredi or most other banks.

Most lira payouts arrive within 24 hours when sent during Turkish banking hours; transfers made in the evening, at weekends or on holidays go through the next business day. The minimum depends on the route, so check it in the app. Our Kast Card fees page compares every payout currency.

KAST at Solana Crossroads in Istanbul

KAST was an official partner of Solana Crossroads 2025 in Istanbul. Paying for a ticket with the card and the code KAST took 50% off, and ticket buyers could claim a free physical Solana card.

On stage, KAST COO Sam Kerrins described the goal as a frictionless way to move money with a much better user experience, and the team handed out cards at its booth. KAST's clip from that week shows the card being used by phone at shops and cafés around the city.

Using the KAST card at ATMs in Turkey

A KAST ATM withdrawal in Turkey costs $3 plus 2% of the amount, and the FX fee applies on top because the cash comes out in lira. Each withdrawal is capped at $250, with up to 3 withdrawals or $750 per 24 hours, and the ATM operator may add its own fee.

For anything more than pocket money, a payout to your bank is the cheaper way to get lira.

Is KAST worth it in Turkey?

KAST is worth it in Turkey if you hold savings in dollars or stablecoins and want to spend them like lira. Top-ups are free, card payments in TRY cost at most 1.75%, cashing out to a Turkish bank is 1% plus $2, and the app works in Turkish.

The gaps are Apple Pay, which isn't available to Turkish residents, and cash, because ATM fees add up. Premium and Private only earn back their price at high monthly spend, so the free Standard card covers most people.
