Kast Solana Card: spending USDC, USDT and SOL from the Solana network

A Solana card is a payment card you top up straight from a Solana wallet. KAST built one, and Solana is already its busiest network: deposits land in under a minute and stablecoins arrive without a KAST fee.

What is a Solana card?

A Solana card is a pre-funded payment card that you load from the Solana network instead of a bank account. You send tokens from Phantom, Solflare or an exchange, and the card spends them at ordinary shops. The shop is paid in its own currency and never sees any crypto.

The Kast Solana Card is KAST's version: a Visa card tied to a USD balance in the KAST app. USDC, USDT and PYUSD sent over Solana are credited one for one. SOL works as well, but KAST turns it into dollars first. From there it behaves like any other Visa card, at 150M+ merchants in 170+ countries, by tap, online or through Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Why Solana is the cheapest way to fund KAST

Solana is the cheapest of KAST's 13 deposit networks for most people, and usually the fastest. Gas costs a fraction of a cent. KAST takes nothing on stablecoin deposits. The money tends to show up in under a minute, while an Ethereum deposit can sit there for 5 to 10 minutes and cost far more to send.

In July 2025 KAST said Solana carried 39% of all its deposits, more than any other chain.

Solana vs the other KAST networks

KAST's deposit networks are Solana plus 12 others: Ethereum, TRON, Polygon, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Avalanche C-Chain, TON, Base, Optimism, Stellar, Sonic and the XRP Ledger. They all credit stablecoins without a KAST fee, so the difference comes down to which coins each one carries and how long you wait.

Solana and Ethereum are the only two that take USDC, USDT and PayPal's PYUSD. Ethereum is the slow, expensive one of that pair. TRON is a common route for USDT but has no USDC on KAST, and Base has USDC but no USDT. If your coins are already on Solana, there is no reason to bridge them anywhere else first.

Which Solana tokens you can spend with KAST

The Solana tokens KAST credits for free are USDC, USDT and PYUSD. They arrive one for one, with no KAST fee, and the only cost is Solana gas.

KAST: send in crypto, spend in stablecoins
Kast Solana Card: SOL converted to stablecoins

SOL is handled differently. KAST accepts it, converts it to stablecoins on arrival and charges for the conversion, usually 2% to 5% and sometimes more. You see the exact figure before you confirm. JUP, PENGU and other Solana tokens go through the same conversion.

So if you hold SOL, swap it to USDC in your own wallet and send the USDC. It is one extra step, and it is usually the cheaper route.

How to top up KAST from Phantom or Solflare

Funding KAST from Phantom is a one-minute job. KAST posted a screen recording of the whole thing (it plays in the deposits section above), and the steps are the same in Solflare:

  1. In the KAST app, tap Receive, choose Crypto and pick the token you plan to send.
  2. Choose Solana as the network and copy the deposit address.
  3. In Phantom, Solflare or your exchange, send the token to that address on Solana.
  4. Give it about a minute. The USD balance updates and the card is ready.

The network on both sides has to match. A token sent on the wrong network may never arrive, and that is how most people lose a deposit with any crypto card.

SOL staking with the KAST Validator

The KAST Validator is a Solana validator run by KAST, and staking with it is the one perk that only Solana cards get. Stake SOL to it natively, hold a Solana card and connect that wallet in the KAST app. After a first claim, KAST Points arrive every epoch, roughly every two days, on top of the normal staking rewards.

Native staking delegates the SOL, so it never leaves your wallet. The minimum is 0.01 SOL and unstaking takes about two days. Superteam cards don't qualify.

The rate depends on your tier: 0.125 KAST Points per staked SOL each epoch with the free Solana Card, 0.25 with Illuma and 0.5 with Gold or Solid Gold. Stake 100 SOL on the free card and that is about 12.5 points every two days. KAST Points have no cash value, so count them as a bonus rather than yield you can plan around; our Kast Card Airdrop and Points page covers what you can do with them.

Solana Card, Illuma, Gold and Solid Gold

The Kast Solana card designs are four cards, one for each membership tier, and the tier is what sets your rewards.

The Solana Card is the free Standard-tier design: gradient Solana artwork, Visa Platinum and 1.5% base cashback. The physical card itself costs nothing. Shipping it costs $40.

Solana Illuma comes with Premium at $1,000 a year. It is a metal card with an LED Solana logo that lights up when you touch it, on Visa Infinite, with 2% base cashback and another 1% in KAST Points.

Solana Gold comes with Private at $10,000 a year: metal with a 24k gold-plated finish, 3% base cashback, 2% in KAST Points and two extra cards from any other tier.

Solana Solid Gold is invite only. It is made from 37g of solid gold and carries the Private rewards plus VIP Concierge.

The design doesn't change how you fund the card, since every KAST card takes Solana deposits. The Solana designs matter for the staking bonus and for how the card looks when you take it out.

Kast Solana Card fees and cashback

Kast Solana Card fees are the same as on any KAST card of the same tier. These are the ones a Solana user runs into:

WhatCost
USDC, USDT, PYUSD deposits0% from KAST; only the Solana network fee
SOL and other tokensConverted at a fee shown before you confirm, usually 2–5% or more
SpendingNo FX fee in USD; 0.5%–1.75% in other currencies
ATM withdrawal$3 + 2%, up to $250 each
Cashback1.5% base on Standard (first $2,000 a month), 2% Premium, 3% Private; up to 8% in total

The fee most people actually pay is FX. Spend in euros or baht and you pay up to 1.75% on top. Spend in dollars and you pay nothing.

Is KAST a good Solana card?

KAST is a good Solana card if your money already sits in stablecoins on Solana. Deposits are quick, cheap and free on KAST's side, and the basic Solana Card costs nothing beyond $40 shipping, and only if you want plastic.

Fund it with USDC or USDT rather than SOL: converting SOL costs 2% to 5%, which is more than the 1.5% the card hands back as cashback. You also don't need a paid tier to use Solana. The free Solana Card does everything described here, staking bonus included. Compared with the free card, Illuma and Gold only pay back on cashback at high spend, around $5,700 a month for Illuma and $28,800 for Gold, so pick them for the metal and the points.
