Kast Base Card, explained: USDC on Base, what it costs and getting money out
The Kast Base Card is the KAST Visa card funded with USDC sent over Base. KAST takes USDC on Base with no KAST fee and credits it 1:1 as dollars. Base is deposit-only, so withdrawals leave on Arbitrum, Solana or Ethereum.
What is the Kast Base Card?
The Kast Base Card is the regular KAST Visa card, topped up with USDC sent over Base, the Ethereum layer 2 built by Coinbase. There is no separate card: Base is simply one of the networks you can pick when you deposit.
When KAST listed its 13 deposit chains in August 2025, Base was one of the five it named first, next to Solana, Ethereum, TRON and BNB Chain. It is the natural route if your USDC sits on Coinbase or in a Base wallet.

How to deposit USDC on Base to KAST
USDC is the only coin KAST takes on Base. Depositing it takes a minute once your account is verified:
- In the KAST app, tap Receive and choose Stablecoin.
- Pick USDC, then Base from the network list.
- Copy the address with the copy button.
- Withdraw USDC on Base from Coinbase, another exchange or your wallet to that address.
KAST charges nothing and credits it 1:1 in dollars. At least $1 has to arrive after network fees. Opening an account starts with an ID check, covered on our Kast Card sign up page.

What Base costs with KAST
KAST puts Base with Arbitrum, Optimism and Avalanche as a moderate-fee network: transfers usually settle in under a minute and gas runs from a few cents to under a dollar. On KAST's side, a USDC deposit is free.
Card payments in US dollars cost nothing, other currencies carry a 0.5% to 1.75% FX fee, and the rest is on our Kast Card fees page.

Getting money out when Base is deposit-only
KAST doesn't send out on Base. To move USDC back to a wallet or exchange, pick another network: Arbitrum costs $0.20 + 0.1%, Solana $1 + 0.1% and Ethereum $6 + 0.1%, with a $5 minimum.
Arbitrum is the closest fit for most Base users, since the same 0x wallets support it. Our Kast Arbitrum Card and Kast Solana Card pages walk through both.
Spending Base USDC with the Kast Card
Once the USDC lands it is a dollar balance you can spend anywhere Visa works, online or in a shop. Cashback is paid in US dollars: up to 8%, with 1.5% on the free Standard tier and more on the paid tiers.

Base, Ethereum or Optimism? Getting the network right
Base addresses look just like Ethereum, Optimism and Arbitrum ones, so a wallet won't stop you mixing them up. Pick USDC and Base in KAST first, then copy the address, and choose Base on the sending side too.
Two mistakes to avoid: sending USDT on Base, which KAST doesn't support, and sending ETH on Base, which KAST doesn't convert. If funds go out on the wrong network or coin, recovery isn't guaranteed; when it works it takes 1 to 2 weeks, costs a fee and returns the money to the sending wallet.
